Tire shops sell and install new tires, patch punctures, balance wheels and, at most locations, align the suspension. Prices are quoted per tire plus mounting, balancing, valve stems and a state disposal fee for the old set; many shops price-match and include free rotation and flat repair for the life of the tire. Used tire shops sell inspected take-offs for a fraction of the price of new ones, useful for an older car or a single replacement, but check the tread depth (4/32 inch or more) and the DOT date code, since rubber ages even on the shelf. Mobile tire services come to your driveway or the roadside, commercial shops handle semi, trailer, farm and off-road tires, and wheel shops repair and refinish bent or curb-scraped rims.

Charlottesville is in Virginia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Charlottesville follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Just starting out --only 100mi in on a 1000mi RV trip and tire pressure sensor indicated a problem. McCarthy folks checked us out on-the-spot and took care of leaky valve stem & checked out other tires--topped them all off. Great service and really top-notch guys. Back on the road within an hour.

I always try to give credit where credit is due, but when a job is performed by an employee that either has a complete lack of common sense, doesn't take pride in their work, just simply doesn't care, or All Of The Above, you will get a 1-Star review from me! So these guys replaced a set of TRUCK tires on the tandem rear end of my crane. My counterpart was there during the 2 tire replacement while I was out of the shop but informed me of struggles the repair guys had and what seemed to be an extreme lack of knowledge for the job at hand! Despite the trouble they had from start to finish, the repair guy and his trainee mounted the inside rim to the outside, and my clean polished aluminum rim to the inside! For anyone that knows, once a rim spends it's lifetime on the inside, the brake dust and road grime literally bakes into the rim, making it impossible to ever clean again! So, I now have one clean polished aluminum rim on one axle and one SOLID BLACK nasty axle just in front of it, and it looks like TOTAL CRAP!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!

They were very helpful and accommodating due to my change in scheduling. They were quick and professional in their service and had me out of there in about an hour. The price was within my budget. So thankful for them!

I dropped off truck tire at the store after hitting an object on Rt64 near Crozet, while pulling travel trailer. Staff was very helpful & friendly. Repair cost was less than expected. No issues on 300 mile return trip home.
